DINGLE FILM FESTIVAL
Dingle Peninsula has a long history in film and some of the famous films (and film scenes) shot right here include Emer Reynold’s Joyride (2021) with Olivia Coleman, George Lucas’ Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017), Ron Howard’s Far & Away (1993) with Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman and David Lean’s Ryan’s Daughter (1969).
Dingle Distillery International Film Festival takes place from 7-9 November 2025.
Now in our third year, our mission is to present a ground-breaking, dynamic & inspiring festival to a wide & diverse audience, seeking out Irish and international films that push boundaries. We also have films in Irish (with subtitles) central to programming to honour and celebrate the Irish language in our unique position as the only film festival in a Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) region here in the heart of the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht. We foster strong opportunities for local up-and-coming and established filmmakers to showcase their work & bring renowned filmmakers to the area to facilitate sharing of ideas and collaboration. Our vision is to show film on the edge, at the edge of Europe.
Our festival programme includes a diverse programme of shorts, documentary and feature films from our international call-out as well as curated films. Films are screened in venues including Dingle Skellig Hotel looking out across Dingle Bay and in the Blasket Centre, west of Dingle, overlooking the iconic Blasket Islands.
Alongside our screenings, we also have a programme of masterclasses and workshops with internationally-renowned film industry experts, at our Masters Zone sponsored by and located in the Dingle Skellig Hotel.
